In a report published on July 24 the Committee strongly endorsed the well- established convention under which the House of Commons is given the opportunity to debate and vote on the deployment of the armed forces overseas.
It criticised the government for failing to make clear the role Parliament should play in decisions on arming the Syrian National Coalition.
