On January 18 (see Britain and Poland), Alistair Lexden asked the government whether it intended to ensure that Polish would continue to be available as an A-level subject.
He received an encouraging reply which has now been followed by a firm and positive government statement.
Sources close to the Polish Embassy told Alistair Lexden that his initiative in January “ played an important and possibly decisive role”.
