His principal duty since his appointment last year to one of its Sub-Committees has been to assist with the preparation of a report on the modernisation of higher education in Europe.
The report has now been agreed by the Committee as a whole and published. It calls for the reallocation of EU spending to boost research and innovation, and wider participation by British students in European exchange programmes.
