At the moment Northern Ireland is the only part of the country where political parties are not required to publish details of the donations and loans they receive. In a Grand Committee debate in the Lords on January 29, Lord Lexden welcomed the news that greater public scrutiny will be introduced next year under legislation to be published shortly by the government.
